Herramientas como LUMINA, un chatbot entrenado en acompañamiento ignaciano, o MagisteriumAI, que permite búsquedas avanzadas en textos sagrados, muestran cómo la IA puede apoyar prácticas espirituales y teológicas. También se analizan casos como ChatGPT, empleado por millones para consultas personales, incluso espirituales. Si bien estas herramientas pueden potenciar la introspección y el acceso a recursos, también plantean riesgos éticos: dependencia emocional, erosión de relaciones humanas auténticas y sesgos algorítmicos. El estudio propone directrices para asegurar que la IA complemente —y no sustituya— la expresión espiritual genuina.

This study examines how artificial intelligence (AI) technologies influence the relational and spiritual aspects of human life. Tools like LUMINA, a chatbot trained in Ignatian spiritual direction, and MagisteriumAI, which enables smart searches across religious texts, illustrate AI’s potential to support theological reflection and spiritual practice. Widely used platforms like ChatGPT also play a role in spiritual guidance for millions. While these tools can deepen self-awareness and spiritual access, they also raise serious ethical concerns: emotional dependency, diminished human connection, and algorithmic bias. The study proposes ethical guidelines to ensure that AI enhances —rather than replaces— authentic spiritual expression.
